they are getting 'too big'

look how big they are getting--can't give Ursula's milk all the Credit, they have begun to eat solids. Just thought Miss Mira, I got this cup to pose them cutely in it, little did I know she wouldn't fityeah, I have to say this 'photo shoot' didn't go as I had planned
Lucky fit a little bit better
isn't he a sweety
here is one of both of them together

everybody needs a little help once in a while, including rabbits

Isn't this the cutest?I came out to check on the babies--which by the way are getting 'HUGE'--and found Ursula giving one a boost.
'oh no, I've been caught'
aren't they the sweetest

Good Morning

i have to say I was a bit overjoyed to wake up and see this beautiful little face to great me as I walked into my son's room this morning, and yes, that is Red's nose. This was a first, they were awake before I was and boy did they want to eat
It was so hard to get a decent photo cause they kept hopping around

The Twins growing up

Miss Ursula's Milk must have been good--look how big they are getting, and their eyes are finally opened!!! I can't remember how old for sure but I think they were about 13 days old when their eyes finally opened (I will have to check the calendar)And once their eyes opened they were off to explore this great new world
Luckily Red was there to help contain them
That silly dog is convinced he is the father of these babies--boy does he have a lot to learn about genetics
Finally, their tummies are full once again and they are back to sleep...I love you Mira and Lucky

Meet Ursula and Lilo

Like I mentioned before, bottle feeding was definitely taking it's tole on the family, we had tried letting Skiddish feed them but that took its tole on Skiddish, so when we were happened upon another breeder who bred Flemish Giants we were instrested in this beauty, when I picked her up and just happened to feel her milk sacks full I thought it was a gift from God--Meet Ursula (as in George and Ursula off of "George of the Jungle') and behind her is Lilo, who isn't Ursula's but came from the same breederHis is another Pic of Lilo, isn't she pretty
Now remember the twins are pretty use to having the food brought to them, I was super hesistant about putting them with a new mommy, actually I was pretty terrified to say the least, but I knew bunny milk was healthier for them and that this momma needed to get rid of some of her milk so I figured we could give it a try
and let me tell you, they took onto it like they had been doing it their hole lives. Ursula must have had some pretty good milk cause they LOVED it.
I loved to watch and their little legs would twitch from excitement as they climbed under her to get more milk...ummm umm good

some pics of Mira and Lucky

I have to be honest, I don't know how old they are in this photo but i remember thinking 'wow, look how much they have grown' when I took this photo.
we got one happy little baby with a stuffed little tummy in this photo, but I have to admit, bottle feeding them wasn't easy, we tried an actual little tiny bottle with a little tiny nipple, it was too big, we eventually turned to eye droppers which made a huge mess and i was afraid of it getting into their lugs through their nose.
Red sure loves those babies, he would always guard them and not let anything get near them, him and Besi got in a few fights because she got 'too close'

I owe ya'll a huge apology--sorry

Oh my goodness, I can't believe how long it has been since I last posted, I have so many pics, and updates, and you wouldn't believe everything that has been happening--well if you 'liked' our facebook page what follows might not be so shocking, but if you have been waiting for a blog update then you best stay seated while you read this cause it is a shocker (drum roll please)

WE HAVE MOVED!!!! yes, we moved to Lindale, Texas, actually between Lindale and Mineola--shocking I know, but it gets better, we have more land, we are no longer restricted by city ordinances and we have already purchased a momma goat and her baby as well as 4 chickens, 2 guineas and 6 baby chicks...

And now for the bad news, right before we moved we lost Wendi and her twins, as well as Prince, Adam, Lilo and Stitch. We don't really know what caused them all to die so close together (Lucky died outside, Mira died inside the next day--we think they might have eaten something when we let them roam) but we do miss them horribly. Those babies (Mira and Lucky) were like my babies, luckily we got lots of pictures before they passed. I cannot post the pics right now though because (more bad news) we couldn't get sudden-link out to our new location and it just takes way too long with dial up to download pictures--but have no fear (good news) my husband recently purchased a new laptop and I plan on taking a trip with it somewhere that offers free wifi so hopefully I can download pictures then (and maybe back log a bit and post 'new' posts to the dates they should have been posted so make sure to look back to catch up)

also, if you want to be kept more up to date (blogging with dial up is going to be a challenge at first) make sure to check out our facebook page--look for it under The FAM FARM--and like it, I want so badly to do a free give away of some sort but need at least 50 likes before I can (we already have 32 so we are over half way there). If you don't have facebook, don't fear, once we get 50 followers here I will also do a free give away here (and I will even post more once I know people are actually reading what I write) so make sure to tell all your friends to come and follow us

as for me and my, it is getting late and as always I have a super busy day tomorrow--goodnight ya'll
